We selected a sleek one hundred year old slab of Makha wood, we found in a house in Hanoi. Slabs like these were usually put on the floor, in pairs, creating a large platform on which people would sit to have linch, drink tea or chat the day away. In the evenings the owners would roll out a little mat and would use this platform as their bed.
We slightly bleached the wood and we applied several layers of “diamond” oil, a variety of tung oil which results in a warm, honey-like finish. We wanted to create a low table which could be placed either against a wall or behind a couch, so we opted for our PT3 base which has a stretcher to put your feet up while working. Since this table is lower than an average finis table it is ideal for computer work: work your laptop while binge-watching netflix…
contact us with your table-wishes and we’ll try to grant them.
