Artist Collaboration Bronze Dining Table by Jean Bilquin
We are proud to unveil the fruits of our collaboration with celebrated Belgian painter/sculptor Jean Bilquin (born 1938). Jean Bilquin is considered one of the most visionary and eclectic Belgian artists whose work often hints at philosophical themes when he questions his position as an artist towards and within mankind in general and the individual in particular, he questions our relation to nature, heritage, surroundings, religion and indeed the cosmos. Jean created a Caryatid, a female goddess or Deity often used in architecture or in exquisite furniture throughout history. We selected one of our rarest and most impressive pairs of antique wooden slabs from our collection: Chicken-Wing wood (鸡翅木 Jīchì mù) has an impressive grain and this particular wood is at least a hundred fifty to two hundred years old. We decided to leave the wood unfinished and naked in all its rawness and hope this table is a harmonious homage to nature in its purest form: the age-old tree, bearing fruits and fuels mankind.

More and more clients contact us with a question to create from scratch. Some clients offer their own sketches, others have faith in our eye and let us design for them. Feel free to reach out with your specific questions, share any reference photos, and try to be as specific as possible: let us know which materials you’d prefer, ideal dimensions… and any information you can think of to help us understand what you are looking for.
We will study your brief, get back to you with any further questions we might have and give you an idea of budget. Should the budget be too high we can discuss alternatives (changing materials, tweak the design, …).
Please note that we will not accept requests to copy existing designs by others.
