Wood and Brown Brass Occasional Handmade Table
We have had a few requests for our larger BLTs with wood top, so we decided to create one for the opening night of a renowned Thai artist’s work to showcase as part of our new collection. The wood had to be cut thin enough to fit flat into the frame and it sits perfectly so. The colors and grains of this particular Makha Tae wood beautifully complement the brown brass. Hence the beginning of our wood topped BLTs. Next stop the Golden Sand frame with a more bleached wood perhaps?

Brass Low Tables (BLTs)
BLTs are occasional (coffee) tables, sit-sculptures to enjoy in-or out-doors. Puzzle your own ideal configuration by combining various BLTs with lego-ease: modular, compatible-sized tables available in two heights: 34.5 cm (13.6 in) and 40.6 cm (16 in).
We were inspired by cross-profile columns Mies van de Rohe used in the iconic Barcelona Pavillion when we created this modular low table collection with cross-profile frames in extruded and hand-welded brass: Mondrian your BLTs with any color glass or opt for wooden tops. Our textured, custom-made Bronze tops are hyper-chic and sand cast to perfection, reason why we sign every single BLT, by hand naturally.
Our BLTs match our Sofas & (Day)beds collection.
Reclaimed Hardwood
P. Tendercool is based in Thailand, where a couple of generations ago every house was a wooden one. Thailand was spoiled for choice and many houses were constructed using now rare exotic tropical woods. We made it our mission to score these and turn vintage floors, beams, and pillars into truly unique furniture, created for you, towards your specifications.
We use traditional wood-working techniques and – unless you ask otherwise – refrain from levelling the bottom of a table. Our furniture will more often than not show imperfections we cherish, traces of its past: old wooden pegs, old joinery, some restored holes, all signs of the wood’s previous life.
Table Bases
Our table-bases are sand cast by hand, one by one, by Octogenarian Armando Benato and his team. Armando started working with his uncle when he was fourteen and even worked for artists like Salvador Dalí. Care for a better reference?
Most of our bases are available in Bronze, Brass or Aluminum in a number of finishes. Download our catalogue to learn more.
