Belgians in Bangkok
Belgians Stéphanie Grusenmeyer and Pieter Compernol established P. Tendercool in 2009. As former antique dealers they had been collecting exceedingly rare, century old hardwood slabs of Chicken-Wing wood (鸡翅木, Jīchì mù) since their arrival in Thailand in 2005. This fabulous wood collection would literally become the pillars of P. Tendercool.
Over the years the couple collaborated with a Belgian wood restoration expert, 2nd generation Thai carpenters, an Italian Bronze-master, freelance designers from Thailand, France, Austria and Korea:

P. Tendercool enjoys both a local and global fan base and was crowned expat entrepreneur of 2018.
Meet Your Makers
While rare wooden slabs are the pillars of P. Tendercool, our makers are the cornerstone and foundation. Brothers Sek and Song started working with Stéphanie and Pieter even before P. Tendercool was registered as a company. Forever with his “sure I can”-attitude, Sek learned English, handpicked his team and ensures all learn every technique, to perfection, in time-honored master-apprentice fashion. Song received extensive training by Belgian wood Restoration expert Eli Vermeulen a decade ago and is now our wood finish expert par excellence.
P. Tendercool steadily matured, broadened their scope and expanded into their fabulous PT-Lab by the khlong in 2017 where thirteen seasoned crafts-people work their magic: creating for you.
Meet Your Facilitators
While our makers strive to uphold strict P. Tendercool standards,
you would not enjoy our Bespoke Service without our facilitators:
(1) Mr. Boy is our in-house photographer whom you have to thank for your in-progress and studio photography. (2) Ms. Mye, Graphic Police, is in charge of the look and feel of P. Tendercool. (3) Ms. Wan has been with us since day one and ensures our offices and gallery remains spotless and safe. Not a simple feat during Corona scares. (4) Ms. Sun handles your orders and payments. (5) Ms. Nit ensures your samples and order arrive on time, every time. (6) Ms. Bam greets you in the gallery and is Pieter’s P.A.: she organizes correspondences and photos, keeps track of your requests and makes sure your deadlines and our lead-times are respected.
Small Is beautiful
We like to think we are big enough to work professionally, yet small enough to be flexible.
We work from only one location and online. You won’t find us at any (design) fair nor resellers.
